Mediation Services

Edge Mediations assists parties in litigation by avoiding significant costs, saving valuable time, and providing certainty through a mediated outcome.

Your Trusted Mediator Serving Australia

Litigation is expensive, unpredictable, and slow. Mediation offers a faster, more certain alternative — and with the right mediator, a better outcome for everyone involved.

Robert Algie brings 22 years of personal injury litigation experience — acting for both plaintiffs and defendants — to every mediation. He understands the evidence, the tactics, and the pressure points on both sides of the table. That depth of knowledge helps parties move from entrenched positions to workable resolutions, often in a single day.

How It Works

1. Enquiry & Booking

Enquiries as to available dates and bookings can be made directly through this website. To complete a mediation booking, you will need to specify whether a half-day or a full-day session is required, along with the parties’ names and contact details.

2. Pre-Mediation Preparation

The parties will prepare an electronic brief for the mediator containing the documents necessary to mediate the dispute. The parties are encouraged to only include relevant portions of subpoenaed material.  Three business days before the mediation, the plaintiff is to serve its position paper. One business day prior to the mediation, the defendant is to serve its position paper.  The mediator reviews all materials before the day, so time is not wasted on background.

3. The Mediation

Mediations typically run for half a day or a full day. The mediator facilitates an opening joint session and private sessions, helping each party realistically assess their position.

4. Resolution

If agreement is reached, the parties will sign a heads of agreement, a deed of release or a consent judgment. If not, everything discussed remains confidential and without prejudice.

Video mediations via zoom follow the same process and are available anywhere in Australia.
